Hi Motoroaming, I'm glad you're both pleased with the bikes. Definitely the right bikes for the job...particularly with regards to the garage space! Thank you for the kind words, it was a pleasure to deal with you. All the best, Martin

I make it clear to customers that 64miles is the BEST i've achieved on one charge, but 20 - 40 is more typical. People tend to want an answer rather than some vague waffle about how it's impossible to say, so I give them as many facts as I can based upon my own experiences on the many different assisted bikes i've ridden...no promises on range at all unless they are lighter and fitter than me riding a similar bike in a similar situation. Please don't generalise about dealers...I never exaggerate the figures I quote to my customers. These are based on facts that I personally have experienced, and I make it clear to them that the figures I give them are based solely on my riding style and in what scenario I achieved them -fully explaining that it's unlikely they will get the same...

Fully agree...was just stating my daily experiences, and why I feel it is a valid question with no definitive answer.

I get asked this question by almost every single new customer that comes into the shop... I always tell them that the best that I personally have achieved is 64 miles on Bosch performance in Eco mode, and TRYING to be as frugal as possible whilst using the assistance as continually as possible. ie. not really normal cycling situation. I point out that It's unlikely that they will get this if they are bigger than me-most blokes are (i'm a bit of a short arse)... Essentially I let them know it's impossible to say, but very likely to get between 15 worse case scenario, and 64 if they try hard. On that system. On a similar bike. With similar tyres. On a cool , but sunny day.

Decisions, decisions... e-MTB
No worries...if you do decide to come down, please call us the day before to ensure we still have a particular model of interest still in stock. The stocks change on a daily basis, and I would hate to disappoint after a journey to see something specific.

Wai Won Ching A Living Legend
"Hey W.W!" Lol @ Americans....Wai Won would have been quicker to say...we used to just call him Ching (Think that's the correct way to address him in Chinese culture?)

Getting psyched up
I reckon around the 65-70 mile mark if you keep it assisting at around the cut off and stay strictly to Eco. Depends a lot on the terrain and your weight of course. Bit of a tip if you're new to longer distances...gel padded gloves and padded shorts will be essential to it being bareable-and a small water bottle too. Good luck with it...look forward to hearing about it afterwards...maybe track the ride on one of the available Apps or devices so we can all see your route ?

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?
I was suffering terribly from the chain sucking round and jamming up the drive throughout the winter on my Bosch performance bike.... This has only ever occurred when completely caked in muck though. The only way out of it for me (as it usually occurred whilst going through a particularly muddy patch) was to drop the power off completely, as the loss of traction was trying to throw the chain through the drive train as the power kicked in. Then I needed to clean out the chainring with a stick/wash it off in a handy stream before continuing.... Since then, I've fitted a chain guide on the lower section of chain as near to the chainring as able, and it's not done it since...though now I've stated this publicly, i'm sure it'll happen fairly soon.
