Double thanks to OnBike... again!
Hi Jon, Thank you for your kind words, we were glad to be of help with the bike- always happy to keep the ebikers wheels turning! Also thanks go to you and all the others that attended our very pleasant and successful day at the track...It was a great example of variety of Electric Bikes, with every quality motor system available to ride, and in the sunshine too! We couldn't have done it without the support of our various suppliers, and very much appreciate their efforts on the day.

Rockshock reverb seatpost
See the black sticky out bit on the back of the seatube just above the motor...i'm sure it's a removable plug in the frame- which means you can fit a stealth dropper without dropping the motor out.
-
Rockshock reverb seatpost
I think you may have an appropriate cable exit hole in the lower section of the seatpost tube Phil, and the Scott motor covers have a "spare" 3rd hole to run it through....If I remember correctly that is..is it the Genius 920 you have?

BH eMotion Neo Cross Status AND Pros and Cons of Local Dealership
BH are now a pleasure to work with. NEVER thought I'd say that, but since the end of last year it's like a different company, and deliver service better than ever and equal to the likes of Bosch. The products are solid now- the Evo seems to have removed any of the issues of the Neo system, and all their bikes look great. They are using Bosch, Yamaha and Brose on their bikes which adds even more confidence for the future. Who'd have thunk it?

New 2016 Schwalbe Marathon Plus MTB looks good
Just completed a 24.7 mile ride mostly offroad through the Wyre Forest on the latest incarnation of the Schwalbe Marathon Plus MTB 27.5. I'm running at about 45psi as I knew I would be doing a mix of terrain today...usually run at about 60psi for the commute. They absolutely fly along at 60 plus, and offer plenty of confidence at high speed as they feel rigid on the road. In fact, the first commute I did with these on, I shaved off 4 mins off my 17 mile run making it 52 mins, averaging about 19mph on a mountain bike. Today, they felt pretty good as I hit the rough stone tracks, and gave confidence that they wouldn't pop due to the tough sidewalls and thick face when skidding sideways off the larger rocks and roots. Gripwise, they weren't great, and I felt everything due to their firmness, but I stayed on all day, and managed some fairly gnarly tracks without too much effort. I took them over tracks that I nearly always get a puncture or two, without barely a thought for the thorns- which was great, as I just wanted a pleasant jaunt out today unplanned. Before a pretty steep section: ...and after: 200ft in half a mile. Got a feeling they will be utterly useless in the wet off road, but I'll stick with them through the dusty summer rides and see how they go. Also, the Topeak mudguards did an admirable job.

G-tech bike,has anyone seen a proper test
Must disagree with your statement there Dave about Ebikes being a local market...most of our sales are from outside Worcestershire (apart from Malvern!) and indeed the majority are from across the U.K, from Fife to Isle of Wight, and everywhere inbetween. Also think GTECH are doing a great job promoting the concept of Ebikes with their Marketing budget, and are happy to have the extra footfall they bring to Worcester.

Lady Bower.
Aged 4, bumping around Bradford in the back of my Dad's Robin Reliant ( no seatbelts of course) was a terrifying experience for me and my Sister.....we were so glad when we went up in the world and he got a Lada- which had a manual crank starter inserted through the front grille!

Ride Hieght
The front one attaches in the same way - around the left stanchion...clip it over the black base below the spring/seal (takes more pushing than the rear) reset the rubber ring markers and presto! The black plastic in the pic is for the cable run on an internal remote dropper seatpost if you need to plug the frame hole..the rubber ring is for the bell.(sorry if you already knew what these were)

Ride Hieght
Hi Phill, You should have had 2 red plastic sag markers for setting the suspension with your bike. Dead easy stuff...just clip them on, set the sus to the softest setting on the 3 position lock out, and see where the rubber ring sits once you've had your sat weight on the bike...the red markers have a percentage indicator on them. Ask your shop where they are if you don't have them-they should have offered to set it up for your weight when you collected.

Which touring bike, confused newbie
Have a look at these 2 Scott's...performance with 500 battery, XT gearing etc. http://www.onbike.co.uk/crossbar-electric-bikes/scott-e-sub-sport-men-electric-bike.html http://www.onbike.co.uk/crossbar-electric-bikes/scott-e-sub-sport-lady-electric-bike.html Or there is a cheaper variant of both with the Active motor....lower torque giving greater range.

Haven't been offroad on it yet, but it was a blast around the town's back roads and snickets-feels like you're on a tractor!

Buying the right bike for the right reasons
Strange way of operating... Come and see us for a few test rides if possible. I try to accompany the riders if able to on the day, usually with a second choice bike that we swap over for the return leg. If the customer wishes to venture out on their own, we get them to pay for the bike which is fully refunded when they return with it in good order.

Buying the right bike for the right reasons
Hi Phill, It's very normal to fully consider such an expensive purchase, and to take your time doing it too. The old "pro's and con's" list usually helps...but sometimes the heart steps in and complicates matters-coz it's nice and shiny! It's worth taking the time to see the bikes you're considering in the flesh, and to test ride them one after the other to narrow it down and solidify your thinking before jumping in.
