May 3, 201411 yr Author Ially the bike runs quite well. No significant drag or power consumption.... Just the noise is annoying. It's like it rub against something constantly
June 5, 201411 yr Author I received my Sine wave controller and the instruction. Unfortunately I do not read chinese. Anyone can help me? My understanding from left to right: 1. ?? 2-3-4: Phase sensor 5: Main positive 6: ? 7: Main negative 8: ?? Maybe speed control? There is 3V coming through on both of the wires 9: Hall sensors 10: Reverse 11: Reverse when connected 13: Throttle 14: Ignition 15: ?? Maybe high power brake? How do I use that? Thanks

Thanks U got most of them right 1. Speedometer wire 5. Main negative 6. Alarm signal 7. Main positive 8 3 speed control 11. Alarm main power 15. High brake...I think it is the brake cut out Patt
June 5, 201411 yr Author Oh thanks do you read chinese? Do you know how I can make the high brake work? Thanks
June 5, 201411 yr High brake is a wire at 0v that you pull up by switching it to a 5v wire. Low brake is a 5v wire that you pull down by switching it to ground.
June 5, 201411 yr Yes I do. It is quite handy especially you can get something really cheap in Chinese online market like taobao
June 5, 201411 yr Author I tried to put it on the 5v of my throttle and it killed my throttle! Now I have a non working throttle. Hopefully I have a spare one, but to which 5v shall I plug that in? And how do I make it work with the hidden brake with 3 wires?
June 5, 201411 yr Author Also the controller stops working when I put full throttle. It works again when I release it
June 6, 201411 yr Author my dahon front wheel hub is dying. Anyone knows where I can find another one at decent price? Or another front dahon wheel or 74mm front wheel
June 6, 201411 yr Assuming your Jetstream has a 20 spoke QR front wheel I think this one is a direct replacement: Kinetix 74mm Front Hub They have a cheaper nutted one here: Dahon 20 hole Nutted front hub Complete wheels from £24.99 : Dahon wheels If it's just the bearings gone you should be able to replace them. The Kinetix hub has cartridge bearings so you'd have to knock them out & measure them, I don't know the size.
June 6, 201411 yr When you're using an unknown controller, you should connect the battery wires, then check every other wire with a meter. Some will have battery voltage and some will have 5v. You can't do ant damage with 5v, but if you connect a battery voltage one to anything, you can kill your controller, throttle or anything else. The front hub is repairable. It's probably just the bearings that beed adjusting or replacing. You need to dismantle it to see what state it's in. You should be able to get the bits in a cycle shop. You need to measure the voltage between the throttle black and signal wires while it's running to find out what's happening at the point it cuts off. Does the throttle signal disappear or does the controller only allow a maximum voltage? Check that the voltage on the high-voltage throttle wire is zero, then when you connect it to any 5v wire with a switch, it'll cut the motor. A hidden wire brake sensor might work if you put it backwards so that the LED is on all the time, and goes off when you pull the brake, but I'm not sure .

So I decided to buy it cheap from Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004QCO4TQ/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I know it's 100mm dropout. So I'd have to force a bit the fork. I hope it won't be an issue

Yes that what I've done, I've seen some wire at 80V (my battery voltage). Don't know what these are for. But yeah I'll be careful. I was just surprised to have killed my throttle like this! I'll do all of this at once when I'll receive my wheel. Should arrive quickly from amazon.
June 7, 201411 yr Author I've noticed my chain kept slipping from my single speed gear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FONj4eX2_2Y Any idea what's the reason?
June 7, 201411 yr Do you have a tensioner on it? 25mm is a very long way to stretch a stiff 75mm Dahon fork. I don't think it'll work. Did you disassemble your old one to look at the bearings?
June 7, 201411 yr Author I have my normal derailler that also works as chain tensioner. I ordered it quickly because it's cheap and easily accessible. I only need a hub replacement. Dahon hub are not easy to source ps: I can take a picture of the bearings but I just think I need to replace the whole inner part.
June 7, 201411 yr Is your derailleur in line with the sprocket? Try adjusting it a bit one way or the other.
June 7, 201411 yr Author By the way, I went to the cycle shop (evanscycle) and they had no idea what bike I had, and didn't even have 20" wheels to sell
June 7, 201411 yr evanscycle have showrooms, they are not bike shops. How did the conversation with their sales staff go?
June 7, 201411 yr Author Conversation was quite ridiculous (as usual): They were impressed by my bike, and asked me where I bought it, if I assembled it myself (I said I had it for cheap in Gumtree to avoid questions ) One of the guy asked me how many watts does it push. I started with 2000W, and he was like "wooow, that should go to 80mph!!". me: "No, I can't go that fast. him: Oh, I think you mean 200w. Your motor is quite big for 200W, there are now some 1000W motors much more powerful than that me: ... Then they said I need a booking with one of their cycle mechanic. Obviously, knowing their competency in cycle, I said I was going to mount it myself lol. I just wanted either a Dahon hub or a 20" front wheel. Of course, they don't sell any 20" wheels, and recommended me to go to a custom bike shop down the road. And no, I'm not going to a custom bike shop for a 20" wheel. Last time I asked a small welding job I heard something like 400GBP for the first session. I wonder how the normal guys fixe their dahon cycles ! I'm now thinking to maybe buy a normal mountain 26" bike and mount all the electric on it for easy maintenance.

I've mailed them 2 days ago and rang them. No one answered!!! That's why I'm not ordering. I don't know when they'd be able to ship anything
June 7, 201411 yr I gave you a link to them above - C H White are the main stockists of Dahon spares in the uk. I've bought several items from them and always found their service to be excellent. You can just order from their website. As I and d8veh have said you probably just need to replace the bearings. The Kinetix hub normally fitted to the Jetstream has cartridge bearings which you have to tap out. Once out you can measure them and order replacements from a bearing supplier. If you want the bushings as well (see here) you might have to order the complete hub as I can't find anyone with any in stock. Good luck spreading those forks. I just phoned C H White to check they're there and they answered...
