  1. In my experience should someone say in an office looses some weight, someone else puts it on. There is so much weight in the world, it just moves around. So it's your fault d8veh my trousers don't fit me.
  2. I must be confusing it with that fish & chip shop on the moon. The one which is being run by Elvis Presley, not the one Buddy Holly owns on the other side of the crater. I'm sure that was The Star?

Really?....................OK. "The flat’s owner, said to be mini-cab driver Behailu Kebede, reportedly attempted to warn other residents about the blaze in his kitchen, potentially saving lives. Neighbours told how Mr Kebede, a father of one, immediately raised the alarm after discovering the fire in his flat, which was number 16 in the 24-story block, as well as contacting the police and fire services." http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/grenfell-tower-cause-fridge-faulty-fourth-floor-london-kensington-disaster-latest-a7792566.html
  4. In a sense it does, since from about our early to mid 20s the number of cells we replace falls below the count of those dying. At first a tiny deficit, the gap gradually grows until it reaches a huge deficit in later years, and ultimately death when not enough is left to sustain life. It's an exact parallel with the UK economy over the last few decades! .
  5. Are you after a job should The Good Old Days return?

  8. Before folk get their knickers in twist - Is there a source other than the sensationalist Daily Star that the SAS or any other UK agency is to receive G2 RIP ammo?
  9. Careful! Wrong thread... You don't want to know about temperatures where I live. August temperatures in June are not a great sign of things to come this year...

  12. So here's the thing. I installed Strava because I'd seen FB friends posting their runs. I looked it up, saw it did bike rides as well and just installed it. When I first went to record it gave me the option of run or bike. Clearly I have no pretentions of bring some supercyclist. When I chequered flagged the first run the segment comparisons with other users where both an unexpected surprise and eye opener about how slow I was everywhere...apart from the one advantage on Vicarage Hill. Therefore had you have simply asked if I knew there was an ebike category guess what my answer would have been? No. And that is because, actually, I DIDN'T KNOW! Having now dug through I see that via manual activity record there are indeed shedload of different categories including ebike (the last on the list). I do find it slightly amusing that a few of you must've taken the time to go rooting logs and then become outraged at this mistake though! I am sorry my two ride records have destabilized and brought chaos to the entire ranking system and achievements of cyclists everywhere in the Essex area. PS I am genuinely in awe of whoever got up Vicarage Hill segment in 1'20" - incredible.

Each household will receive at least £500 in cash and £5,000 paid into an account as part of a £5m emergency fund first announced on Friday. fkn joke that is so where is the rest of the cash going? i bet its the admin cost pmsl
  14. My max recorded speed is 62mph on Samsung Health........forgot to press stop before I got on the train! Going to take a while before I can better that.
  15. I saw one when we had the London shops but haven't seen one since. A customer of mine bought two,he returned his and bought a Kudos Stealth ,his wife kept hers. If 70,000 had been sold we should see them everywhere. Perhaps they have kit car counting system, multiply sales by 10,hehe. Not being negative,I just don't see the market being big enough to cover the cost of TV advertising. It seems to me that in the UK there are a large number of e-bike suppliers supplying a small number each but each supplier traded on low overheads, supported often by parent businesses, that is certainly the situation of Kudos. It sort of works and at least gives customers a lot of choice. KudosDave
  16. Sorry tillson but there can never be a case for using weapons that are banned because it is "Expedient" this is the way to descend into Barbarism, simply doing the terrorist work for them by reducing us to their level, and quite possibly creating more terrorists from their angry relatives in the process. Bloody insane idea!
  17. EU only prepared to reimburse the paid up share capital in UK's stake-holding of the EIB and ECB, not its current values, so it appears we have effectively supported them with an interest free loan all these years . I doubt we would have signed up to them if we had known this at the time of joining them. https://ec.europa.eu/commission/publications/position-paper-essential-principles-financial-settlement_en
  18. And now this Bombshell " Grenfell Tower cladding is banned in the UK, Chancellor reveals The flammable cladding used at Grenfell Tower is not banned merely in the US and Europe, but in the UK too

The equivalent dodge in London is fast response motorcycle and car based paramedics. When they arrive it's counted as ambulance has attended, even though an ambulance is usually still necessary. These fast responders are often based at strategic points on the streets or other official locations, rather than ambulance stations, to enable the nearest to reach the scene quickly and achieve target times. .
  20. The woman doing an impression, a very poor impression, of a Prime Minister, unable to get her act together on any major issue with which she is confronted, just as she was as Home Secretary, is depicted perfectly here by Frankie Boyle: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1836450050004867 Tom

I think Hammond is just trying to be smart. Yes, inflammable claddings are banned, but the supporting backing for the claddings is often flammable and widely used. Expanded polystyrene for example. When the backing burns as in the Grenfell example, the disastrous effect is the same. .
  22. Mine's over 12 months old and hasn't missed a beat. It really is a superb bike...
  23. The only plan I've ever discerned them having is: 1) A hope that an agreement will work out ok in the end. 2) That if it doesn't we'll hard exit and hope that will work out ok. 3) If neither work out, we'll happily suffer in true British fashion while boasting about how stiff our upper lips are. .

  28. A point to think on is this Five years ago a poll of the public revealed that leaving the EU wan't even on the list, people simply were not interested in the idea. The situation we have here has been manufactured and orchestrated to inflame public anxiety over Refugees, immigrants and the mistaken impression that the EU works against the interest of the Public. Ask yourselves for what purpose, and to who do we have to look for setting this whole thing in motion? I urge every one to seek the answer for themselves, by all means amuse yourselves reading our comments. Better still make the effort to Thoroughly check for yourselves, which requires more effort and intelligence than relying on the media, follow the money, the political battles in the Tory party and New Labour too, and check the record of the EU and Americans. Lastly look around at the parlous state of the lower levels of society. Is this the sort of country you want to live in? Then make your minds up
  29. I am reminded to "Be careful what you wish for" So I ask the question "What did the Brexit voters wish for?" Lets see what we have achieved so far Article 50 sent many months later than promised Millions spent of Propaganda and a wasted election that undermined us further. Huge damage to the economy No sign of a plan or any negotiations The fuse is burning down before we are out with nothing. Well I'm impressed! lets hope other people too will be careful what they wish for in future
  30. Thats rather sad! I didn't say that the British Public NEED to be punished so much as INTEND to be, and that hopefully they would benefit from it, after all it was a slight majority that should have been careful "What they wished for" not me by voting for Brexit. Whereas you are saying they will NEVER learn. If you are correct we are heading for Australia, as there is no way we can stop Brexit now. Caution is therefore required and a little "Wishing" that they will learn from this self inflicted harm is surely a good thing.
  31. Lets see now, after some extremist media propaganda over the problems in Northern Ireland you imagine you represent a "Middle of the Road" opinion? And in this latest post come out with this? "You`re opinion does not count in our looney Left world..... " And finish with "Signed: SenileTom & GrumpyGroaner." So that is Middle of the Road, is it? Mr Murdoch will be proud of his creation.
  32. In my experience, one needs to be very careful about what you wish for.. you might get it. Now OG has been very clear for a long time that the UK people need to be punished severely for the mistake of voting leave. And that after wandering in the economic wilderness for a a number of years they might be willing to rejoin the promised land. That is an old testament mindset... So coming from I believe an atheist ( Not going back to check posts) , somewhat surprising. I simply don't think that the world and history works that way. The guilty do not get punished, the foolish blame their folly on others and find scapegoats , a new accommodation is reached. A new dynamic appears and people adjust to it. The best way to stop bad things happening in the future is to stop them now. You don't get out of a hole by Digging deeper.... Australia is a long way down.

  37. But you are French! I went out with a lady from near there a couple of times, nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. Only a short drive to get your cheap cigarettes and Spanish wine!
  38. .. I would thought that the answer to 2 was obvious.. white, very short hair and union jack flag tattoos.
  39. ... Surely by relays of flying fish, those submarines are under the water and pidgeons don't like water .. really!!! Please be realistic.
  40. It's utter nonsense to say she has a mandate to leave the common market, she never has had, certainly not on the referendum result alone and even less now. .
  41. They must be very easily pleased, only dropping the whole stupid Brexit Gamble will please me, who the heck wants to be "Rogered with a Ragmans shiny new trumpet rather than a Rusty one?"

  43. Looks like the Daily Star don't fancy Boris as PM " Boris Johnson removed London Bridge barriers because they were 'ugly' " By Isobel Dickinson / Published 11th June 2017 http://cdn.images.dailystar.co.uk/dynamic/1/photos/413000/620x/Boris-Johnson-crowds-london-bridge-621439.jpg GETTY SCRAPPED: Ex-mayor Bojo demolished safety barriers in 2010 to make way for cyclists The guardrails at the tourist hotspot – where three people were run over and killed in last week’s terror attack – were taken down in 2010. The move left pedestrians vulnerable to vehicles veering off the road. It was part of a campaign by the ex-Mayor and transport chiefs to make the streets less “cluttered” and safer for cyclists.
  44. Interesting that the recent Computer chaos at Heathrow is being put down not to Equipment Failure or hacking attack but to the following. "One person innocently and inadvertantly unplugged something" Sorry but I can't help laugh, admittedly at the tragic humour of it all, that we rely so much on this all powerful and infallable technology that is proving it seems on a daily basis to have the defensive integrity of a "Big Girl's Blouse" With the usual disclaimer that there is nothing about "Big Girl's blouses" (under the right circumstances) to take exception to. One can only imagine what could happen on a Trident Submarine.....
  45. This one isn't too far away from the truth......... https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1828619720787900 Tom
  46. What is all of this, "enough is enough" garbage that is flowing out of Mrs May's cake hole? Wasn't Manchester quite enough for her? Did she need a modicum of additional terrorist activity before she could display the requisite amount of strength and stability? I suspect that "enough is enough" means that those who have, quite rightly been opposed to further unwarranted intrusion into our personal lives, are now weakened "enough" by the present media hysteria, for her to ride roughshod over them. This is exactly how she operates. She failed with this snooping legislation last time, when the playing field was level and thinking was unemotional. Now, emotions are running high, driven by a candle lighting & flower littering orgy of self pity amoungst the public. May will exploit and capitalise upon this foolishness and I expect to see some bad legislation rushed through. The "police" response to the latest incident is false. I suspect that these "coppers" were all called Mick (ask no questions) and were on secondment to The Met from Hereford. If this latest incident had happened in a county town or city it would have been a very different story. You would be lucky to get just 2 armed officers on scene within 30 minutes. This is entirely due to the actions of our strong and stable leader. I sincerely hope the turd doesn't achieve any sort of majority on Thursday. Dangerous times lay ahead if she does.
  47. Came across this but the punctuation was shocking. I have managed to tidy it up a little without completely losing the message or the spontaneity of it......well, a little maybe goes out the window. Teresa May, 'Strong and Stable’, Stole the food from the children's table Took away their daily bread Then stole gran's house when she was dead To pay for care when she was ill When fighting a war should have paid the bill! Set out to kill the remaining old By taking cash when it gets cold Then cut the pensions of those left A nasty, evil hateful theft. Now she wants us to tick the boxes So she can bring back killing foxes No police, no fire or ambulance crews If you're robbed, or trapped or hurt, you're screwed With tax breaks for her corporate chums And 'rape tests' for multiple mums Is this a place you want to live? Where you get less back than what you give Well, I'll tell you this, I'll tell you straight; The choice is yours on June the 8th. Plagiarised by Tom with thanks to the author
  48. Nice analogy 'flecc'! Tom
  49. I don't think that's an option. Although the submarines are ours, the Trident missiles are under US control with software and maintenance essentials from them.. We either have the upgrade or nothing. This has been the case throughout, from the early Polaris system through to Trident. A bit like Microsoft systems, we pay for them but they dictate what we can do with them and for how long. .
