  1. You have way more miles up than me Volusia, I'm only at 155 miles now. I only do 4 miles a day. I didn't put slime in the tires and I haven't had a puncture yet either! I am happy to report that aside from having to tighten the battery case screws the bike has been absolutely flawless. I honestly don't have a bad word to say about it. I made a little video tonight which is a side by side comparison of the long hill on the commute home I'm always whinging about. My old road bike on the left versus the Woosh Rio on the right!
  2. You will look like Darth Soundwave.[emoji56]
  3. Mind you, in Lancashire they also do things differently, the proper response to a loyal toast, 'Ladies and gentlemen, The Queen.' Response is 'The Duke of Lancaster.'
  4. Just a few snaps from 45km ride today, you forget whats just out your back door, no need to dive anywhere just jump on your bike and hit the trails.
  5. I think some of us, well one of us, need to lighten up a bit. Try this p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Helvetica Neue'; color: #454545}
  6. That's what devolution has done, Scotland with its own parliament, Ireland and Wales with their own governing assemblies. But of course this is an old tradition here, the Crown Dependencies long being self ruling. One, the Isle of Man has the longest sitting parliament in the world, The Tynwald there ruling continuously for over 1000 years. .
  7. 'Isn't that cheating?' 'Not if you're in an open relationship'
  8. I have been riding analogic for a few weeks. All sorts of people are passing me and I don't care! I am happy just being able to ride places I couldn't ride to on an upright. Take him to work with you for a week and let him do the ladder work...

Error 30 comms abnormal, the fault is as mentioned above caused by a faulty; Contoller. Lcd . Main trunk cable. If the fault isn't a trunk cable issue then comms data is supplied back and forward via the Rx & Tx lines so would suspect a controller issue.
  10. I’m thinking of getting a second ebike on cyclescheme. Is it possible to get a decent emtb around the £1000 mark and if so where from? Don’t mind adding a bit more but not too much.

Hi Woosh, thanks for the explanation.
  13. so my 750 should be pocky then lol
  14. You may be able to fit a two part one, which side is it on? Otherwise, a temporary solution may be to gaffa tape it to the crank, should get you going.
  15. I had thought of that or more likely a mechanical flywheel arrangement with generator would be possibly be a more economical store. Electro Chemical storage is expensive in any event and say 100kwr of flywheel energy would work... Particularly if it were housed in the underground cisterns that petrol stations currently use. .. safety concerns
  16. This is a fraudulent website and the registration address does not belong to the scammer who registered the domain. Nominet have been notified of fraud. I suggest to check that a company is registered with the Companies House if in doubt. "discount bikes deals ltd" doesn't exist.
  17. I understand Damian and I wish you well. We however are pensioners only using e-bikes because of age and health issues preventing us from using conventional cycles. Although I have been on two wheels of various sorts (even 170 mph ones) for nearly 60 years we feel the repercussions of an incident involving perhaps a child even on a cycle path would leave us open to litigation which could destroy the remainder of our lives because we would have been using an illegal "vehicle" in public. We would really like to take the risk that you have to take as a commuter but we are leisure only and are therefore reluctant.
  18. if this is the case, there is a simple 5 minute trick to make sure that both pistons move well and equally.
  19. Scooter Dog Is going at the same speed & stays clean. Maybe a dog seat on the handlebars & another dog in a backpack would be the answer:confused:. Steve
  20. In local MTB park found rarely used up hill track, great track in tour. Was probably main uphill track to top of park before shuttle made it redundant. Great find as it allows me to bypass 2kms of boring forest road plus save bit battery. Saw a party of older riders doing forest roads on Specialized HT, found out they 70-82yrs both sexes. Something I doubt most would've been doing without ebikes.
  21. sometimes the inner and outer pistons don't push an equal amount on the rotor, so that the rotor moves laterally a millimeter or two when braking, causing the brakes to squeal or squeak. Let me know if it's the case.
  22. Just to answer the question about the Forest of Dean is to busy The size of the forest is 20475 acres so it's a big forest and most like to ride around pedal a bike away and it's always busy there but we have some fab trails away from the crowds and I'd be more than welcome to show anyone some of the trails.
  23. Hows everyone getting on with their Rio's? At around 850 miles now. Only doing around 30 miles a week, using throttle a lot more just to get to where I need to go quicker. Its getting cold and the wind always seems to be against me lol. No issues to report, try to keep up on maintenance. Expected some loose spokes by now due to some of the rough terrain i've been on but so far so good. Front brake squeak has returned, it's really loud but it still brakes firmly. Maybe a contaminated pad?
  24. I thought they were meerkats leaning on one another after playing stuck in the mud. MS.
  25. Sounds very Unighted your kingdom... A foreign country? WTF!
  26. My nephew is a craft beer kind of person and he quite likes the Basque craft beer but then the Basque Country isn't Spain...
  27. You should be able to get a decent beer in all listed other than Spain, so Spain is the least likely.
  28. I wear boots similar to the first pair that you have linked to, for walking across the fields at work. The soles wear out very quickly, and I suspect that the soles might not be durable/hard enough for continuous cycle use. Perhaps think about some overshoes. I really rate the BB ones. Link only for example, not recommendation of dealer. http://www.highonbikes.com/bbb-heavy-duty-mtb-road-bike-overshoes-bws02b.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_YT_qu_Z1gIVVUAbCh2G6wbFEAQYBCABEgK95fD_BwE edit.. I should add that it can be a tricky task finding overshoes of the right size. More often than not, they come up undersized. If you do happen to order a pair, make sure that the company has a decent returns policy. Better still, buy from a shop and try them on first.
  29. The Planet x are both on offer right now. Pretty good value at 70 quid as they are solidly waterproof and relatively breathable My old Gore path jacket wasnt bad either but it was twice the price
  30. As if May's performance in front of her own party faithful wasn't sufficiently disastrous, even the dialogue she used in her speech was stolen: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=879266208890533 Tom
  31. Thanks, all good to know. I’m a total novice off road. Have an ebike but apart from front shocks it’s no emtb . I’d rather take the advice and put the extra to that I need. I only want entry level that will do the job while I find my feet but there’s no point getting something that’s not up to the job either is there ? Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.
  32. The Bosch marketing lass wins the 'mention my product often' award. And being realistic, she's the only one you'd want to take to dinner.
  33. I have a Trek eMTB and also a Boardman 29er. I use both of my bikes but for different rides. I use the eMTB for my adventurous routes like Church Stretton and Cannock chase and i use the 29er for a quick blast after work. When on the eMTB i have had a few funny looks and a couple of cheating comments. When this happens i try to engage in a conversation and then let them have a blast on the eMTB after 5 minutes you can see thier views have changed. I am 45 years old and a good hill has me blowing out my arse. I personally feel a eMTB with assisted help to 15mph just takes the edge off the hills on the trails i am travelling over 15mph so don't have the assistance. This sunday i came across a man on a full suspension normal bike and he was fast i managed to stay with him throughout the one trail and he pulled over and said " no one normally manages to stay with me " he gestured me to follow him down the next trail so i did. 2 trails later i was still glued to his back tyre and he pulled over and said " you are really quick" i then broke it to him that i had a battery..... his face was a picture. I offered him a go and he excepted he jumped on and said "what button do i push to make it go ". You have to pedal it i said he had a little ride and when he returned he was very impressed and was not what he expected. I think E Bikes will only get more and more popular. People that have injuries or are a little mature will appreciate the benefits of an eBike.
  34. 'The Tories are destroying themselves in pursuit of hard Brexit'. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/oct/06/tories-destroying-themselves-hard-brexit that's astonishing but again, it may be time for Mr Corbyn to put his money where his mouth is.
  35. Ted, I ride past a police station everyday on the way home from work...and I will continue to do so until someone stops me and asks for my bicycle licence!
  36. To my mind a bike on the road without mudguards is even more daft than an open top car without them. .
  37. This is all that is required. I have a Neo Guard fitted to all three bikes, and have yet to have even the slightest bit of crud flick up into my face. It won't help you for when following others, but who wants to the one behind anyway.
  38. You will need the best part of 2k if you want mid drive.
  39. OK so if you have a single chainring any 104 BCD chainring will fit. A narrow/wide might be the best choice to keep the chain on. My choice on a 28 (27.5, 29)" wheel would be a 46 tooth for mixed riding, 48 on the flat and 44 even 42 for hills. You have to have a cadence of about 70 with a Yamaha motor IIRC so if you feel comfortable pulling one of those chain wheels at that cadence on your typical terrain it is the one to choose. You can mount a spider and have a double chainring on the Yamaha motor. That makes choosing much easier, big one for fast and easy and small one for steep and lazy...
  40. It doesn't really fold of course, only comes apart into sections so doesn't suit as a commuting folder, hence less London appeal. A style machine and not my type of bike, I prefer more practicality, proper carrier, mudguards etc, but they do seem to have refined it well. D8veh in this forum has rated it very highly and he has very wide experience of all kinds of e-bikes. Security might be a problem with such an attractive machine used for commuting, would you have a secure location for it at work end? .
  41. A lot depends on what you want to do. If you ride off road in wet conditions you are going to get dirty no matter what you use. My mud huggers are strong, don't move about and keep the thick if it off me. For on road riding I fitted full guards and was surprised at the difference and my conclusion is that most if the wet I and the bike experienced was thrown up from the road rather than rained down from above. Kudos to those who enjoy coming home in need of an industrial powerwash before being allowed indoors, but having tried it I decided it wasn't for me..
  42. And the Queen is the 'Lord of Man' there, not the Queen. Her portrait on their bank notes shows her not wearing a crown.
  43. I've got the missing parts! I took 25 days full of frustration and uncertainty but I finally received what I paid for. It seems that the company really struggled with some kind of problems and is now trying to catch up. I don't think, however, that there is a justification for not informing customers about what exactly caused the delay. A lot of fuss could be avoided...
  44. Real News, or Fake News? In the Independent " Angry Conservative MPs help Theresa May see off coup attempt by condemning disloyal ringleader Chief plotter Grant Shapps is branded 'cowardly', 'embittered' and a fantasist – with nowhere near the 30-odd allies he claimed. The question is of course how are we to choose which is true This really was a serious attempt prevented by the loyalty of Faithful Mp's Actually it was all a ruse to try to invoke sympathy for the "Valiant and beleaguered" Prime Minister. I know which I think it is, and it isn't choice 1. I wonder if the plot has already appeared in some American Fiction?
